This workshop will be a moderated discussion with activist and sexuality educator Ericka Hart on what reproductive justice and reproductive health looks like in the current socio-political context.

Topics include: the potential impact of the recent SCOTUS appointment, the 2020 election results, the role of social workers, social service providers and other professionals and social service providers in the fight for reproductive justice.

This discussion also will examine the role that whiteness, religious conservatism and politics play in people’s access to sex education, or the challenges it plays to bodily autonomy. The intention is to create a forum that provides opportunity for participants to engage in dialogue and ask questions live.

Co-sponsored by: the CSSW Reproductive Justice Interest Group, the Action Lab for Social Justice, the Clients & Sexuality in Social Work Caucus, the Office of Professional Excellence, and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Note: If you do not need CE hours, the event is FREE.
