Kalea is a first-year MSW candidate at Columbia University, pursuing the Advanced Generalist Practice and Programming track with a minor in Criminal Justice. They are interested primarily in housing justice, environmental justice and mutual aid and one day hope to serve formerly incarcerated people and the families of incarcerated people. They are also specifically passionate about the liberation of all gender-marginalized queer people of color, especially those who are Black and/or Indigenous because they identify as a Black mixed-race queer trans person. Kalea will be working with the Environmental Justice Initiative and the Action for Black Lives project.
